Rare, Illustrated poem for Forget Me Not c1823.
"This is the joyous Time when Pleasure
Fills its rolling car with treasure.
And the due Symbols of delight
Break upon th'enraptur'd sight."

Each delightful poem and illustration are exquisitely engraved. Superbly framed in French moulding, the 12 will look wonderful hung together! The framed set is available (listed previously) - until the first single month is sold.

Fine original hand-coloured stippled copperplate engravings by English portrait painter, John Samuel Agar (1773-1858) from the drawings by Edward Francis Burney for Forget Me Not, an anthology of poems relating to the months of the year. Agar exhibited at the Royal Academy, and was president of the Society of Engravers. These exquisite little engravings were published in London circa 1823 by Rudolf Ackermann.

Each of this set of 12 small engravings has been mounted between 'antique white' conservation ragmat mounts, with upper mount window embellished by a gold line. Framed in exquisite French carved moulding, with U/V protective glass. Each page size is 13cm x 8cm. Each external frame size is 280 x 235mm (11 x 9 3/4 inches).
