Superb, rare double-page, folio-size Weinmann antique illustration of a Cactus. Cereus Minimus Serpens Americanus circa 1740.

Original copperplate engraving printed in colour and finished by hand. This fine engraving is one of the earliest examples of colour printing from a single plate.

Published for Phytanthosa Iconographia by the apothecary Joahnn Willhelm Weinmann in Regensburg between 1737-1745.
