Fine original hand-coloured copperplate engraving by Fournier after the drawing by Edouard Travies, published Paris circa 1837 for a new edition of Oeuvres complètes de Buffon, suivies de la classification comparée de Cuvier, Lesson etc. (The Complete works of Buffon, following the classification of Cuvier, Lesson etc.) published in Paris circa 1837 by Pourrat Freres (the Pourrat Brothers) for M. Richard, Professor of Faculty of Medicine.
