Antique print of Anas Platyrhyncha, Linnaeus. Male 5/10 size.

Original lithograph printed in colour and finished by hand by Wilhelm von Wright for Svenska Faglar (Swedish Birds), published in Stockholm between 1924 and 1929 by A. Bortzells for self-taught Finnish natural history artists, brothers Magnus von Wright (1805-1868), Wilhelm Von Wright (1810-1887) and Ferdinand von Wright (1822-1905). Born in the village of Haminalahti in Kuopio, Finland, with Scottish ancestors, and their father a retired Major, Henrik Magnus von Wright, the three boys became painters and illustrators, and worked in Stockholm for Swedish ornithologist, Nils Bonde.

This lovely antique print is in fine condition, except for remnant evidence of previous framing at top edge.. Page size is approximately 37.5 x 27 cm (14 7/8 x 10 3/4 inches)
