Antique print of a hawk. Original colour-printed lithograph by Louis Agassiz Fuertes for the Yearbook of the United States Department of Agriculture published in 1908. Born in Ithaca, New York, Louis Agassiz Fuertes(1874-1927) was an ornithologist, artist and illustrator. His bird illustrations are considered some of the most accurate and natural depictions of birds.
This wonderful little lithograph shows both male and female hawks - and victim bird.
