Two eagles antique print... one carrying a rabbit.

Colour-printed lithograph c1894 by John Gerrard Keulemans (1842-1912) for The Royal Natural History by Richard Lydekker B.A., F.G.S., F.Z.S., Etc. (sic.), (1849-1915), published by Frederick Warne and Company of London & New York. Lydekker adapted the German edition and illustrations of Alfred Edmund Brehm's Illustrirtes Thierleben (The Life of Animals).

John Gerrard Keulemans was one of the finest natural history lithographers of all time - excelling with his sensitively portrayed animals in their habitats. Towards the end of his artistic career he also contributed to this English publication, signing his colour-printed lithographs JGK.

Page size 6.5 x 10.25 inches (16.5 x 26cm). It is a shame that this page has been damp at some time, resulting in slight ripples of the left and right margin. Price has been reduced to reflect its condition.
