Hand-coloured original copperplate engraving by Peter Mazell (1759-1797) after Ann Latham (1772-1835), for Voyage of Governor Phillip to Botany Bay; with an Account of the Establishment of the Colonies of Port Jackson & Norfolk Island printed in London circa 1789 by John Stockdale. The daughter of English ornithologist John Latham (1740-1837), Ann Latham painted birds, mammals and butterflies for her father, until her marriage in 1795 to a Winchester surgeon.

With fine later hand-colour, this engraving is in good condition with slight ageing to the page extremities.
