Antique print of Grey Parrot now in Florida USA, as well as its natural habitat of central Africa.

Original woodblock by draughtsman and painter Alexander Francis Lydon (1836-1917). Printed in colour by Benjamin Fawcett (1808-1893) for William Thomas Greene's Parrots in Captivity published in London between 1883 and 1887 by George Bell.

This parrot is a great mimic. A pair of wild grey parrots in Africa were recorded as making 200 diffierent sounds, including imitating 9 other birds and 1 bat!

Page measures 9 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches (250 x 172mm). The top left corner of page is missing but this will not show when framed. This antique print has been mounted between 'antique white' ragmat conservation board (half-framed). (External mount size 350 x 255mm).
