Keulemans colour-printed lithograph for Ornithological Miscellany by George Dawson Rowley, published between 1875 and 1878. John Gerrard Keulemans (1842-1912) moved from Holland to London in 1869 to gain more work in the field of bird illustration. JG Keulemans was one of the finest natural history artists of his time, portraying his subjects sympathetically and with scientific accuracy.

This lithograph is in fine condition, despite the usual slight age soiling of the page extremities. There is a large spot above the publication title at top right. Page size is 365 x 250 mm (14 3/8 x 9 3/4 inches).
