Original colour-printed woodblock c1857 by Alexander Francis Lydon (1836-1917) printed by Benjamin Fawcett (1808-1893) (the most accomplished of the 19th century woodblock printers) for English cleric, ornithologist and founder of the Royal Society for Protection of Birds, and Member of the Ashmolean Society, the Reverend F.O. (Francis Orpen) Morris, B.A. (1810-1895), for the most popular bird book of the Victorian era, A History of British Birds published in London by Groombridge and Sons of Paternoster Row.
