Original colour-printed lithograph by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, for Samuel Sidney’s The Book of the Horse printed by Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co of London, Paris and New York circa 1874.

At the end of the nineteenth century, the quality of chromolithographic illustrations for publication was exceptional. The horse lithographs for Cassells Book of the Horse are some of the finest horse illustrations ever printed.

Image measures approximately 17 x 22 cm (6 ¾ x 8 ¾ inches). Page size is 21 x 27cm (8 1/4 x 10 5/8 inches). This antique print is in fine condition.
