Antique print of Bedlington Terriers.- Mr. F. Armstrong's "Rosebud" and Mr. A. Armstrong's  "Nailor".

Original wood engraving circa 1878 by Butterworth and Heath after a sketch by A. Baker for "The Dogs of the British Isles" first published circa 1867 by John Henry Walsh (1810-1888).

Walsh was educated for the medical profession, and practised for some years as a surgeon. A passionate sportman, Walsh was an expert in the management of dogs and the treatment of their illnesses. He became a sporting writer, and wrote many articles and books under the pen-name “Stonehenge”.  In 1856 Walsh joined the staff of "The Field" journal, and by the end of the following year became its editor.
