His design for a glass house conservatory at Chatsworth served as a model for Paxton’s design of the Crystal Palace for London's Great International Exhibition of 1851 - which gained hiim a knighthood. He later became a magistrate and also a member of Parliamant.

This is a lovely engraving. It is a shame that it is somewhat soiled. Price considerably reduced. Size of page 230 x150mm ( 9 x 6 inches)
