Antique Print of Australian Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo in black ink with pale sepia tones and highlighting of bird's yellow crest.

Original colour-printed wood engraving published in London and New York circa 1851 by John Tallis and Company for The Natural History of the Sacred Scriptures and General Zoology, a small mid-nineteenth century children's guide to natural history, by William I. Bicknell. This is a simple and charming cockatoo illustrated against a sepia background with a subtle title and simply embellished corners to its border.

In good condition, the page measures 120 x165mm (6.5 x 4.75 inches)
