Antique Road Map, London to Portsmouth in Hampshire. Antique Road Map by Senex circa 1759.

This road map is an original copperplate engraving by John Ogilby and John Senex, published by J. Bowles & Sons of London for the pocket edition of 'The Roads through England Delineated, or Ogilby’s Survey, Revised, Improved & Reduced to a Size Portable for the Pocket'.

It’s a very decorative and informative little map.  Believe it or not these maps were actually used to travel the roads of England. On the reverse is part of the road from London to Rye in Sussex, - so you get two maps for the price of one.

Approximate size of this map is 17 x 22cm (6 x 8.5 inches).
