Antique Map of Syria, with Damascus, Aleppo, Beirut, Jerusalem, Tripoli, Gaza, Saida, Jaffa, Acre, Antioch, Ladikiyeh, Iskanderun, and many other towns and interesting geographical notations.

Original map printed in colour and published in London circa 1883 by Letts, Son & Co. Limited. Thomas Letts took over the family owned publishing company in 1835 and was joined by his son Charles in 1870, when the Limited company of Letts, Son & Co was set up. Letts, Son & Co was liquidated in 1885, after which Mason and Payne undertook publication of the plates.

The map is printed on light weight paper, but is in good condition despite this - except for two foxing spots at the edge of the paper on the left. The map measures 40 x 32cm (15.3/4 x 12.1/2 inches). Page size is 435 x 360mm (17.1/8 x 14.1/8 inches). Unfortunately it is too large for our scanner.
