Antique map. Spanish east coast, Minorca, Majorca, Ibiza - Mediterranean Sea from Gulf of Lyon to Gulf of Almeria, with the southern Pyrenees of the French Empire in the north, Navarre, the Kingdom of Aragon and Catalonia extending south to Murcia....

This decorative map has an outline of the Palace at the base with the oval cartouche, Espagne Orientale (Eastern Spain). The fine geographical detail was drawn by Giraldon and engraved by Jean-Baptiste-Marie Chamouin (1768-  ), at Rue de la Harpe No.35 in Paris, for Geographer to the King of France, cartographer and publisher, Pierre Lapie (1771-1850). Printed on thick paper c1812 with contemporary colour outlining the regions and additional coastal wash and soft colours differentiating the regions.

Page size is 255 x 340 mm (10 x 13 3/8 inches). To map border measures 225 x 300 mm (8 7/8 x 11 3/4 inches). This map has faint age-soiling at edges - not surprising when over 200 years old.
