Original map engraved by Lecocq, Barbier,et Waltner as drawn by A. Bizet for geographer Alexandre Vuillemin's La France published in Paris circa 1875.

This is a very decorative antique map of Basses-Pyrénées-Atlantiques Département with small engravings of the Coat of Arms of Pau, important banker and politician Jacques Lafitte, and Henri IV. The Department regions were coloured at the time of publication, but additional colour has been added since.

To the line border around the map the measurement is 210 x 250mm (8 1/4 x 9 7/8 inches). Page size is 285 x 390mm, as published. There is slight age soiling, and a few tiny extremity tears that have been repaired at some time. it is still a lovely, and beautifully coloured.
