Original map engraved on steel by Auguste François Ales (1797-1878) for Charles Monin's atlas "Petit Atlas National des 86 Departements de la France et de Colonies" (Small Atlas of the 86 Departments of France and its Colonies) published in Paris circa 1833 by Antoine Blaisot at Galerie Vivienne No. 49. Monin was a respected mapmaker, active between 1828-1878).

With a small engraved vignette of the Cathedral of Laon and Ain statistical information listed, this finely detailed map is in very good condition and has admirable later colour.
