Herodotus was an ancient Greek historian who lived in the 5th century BC in the time of Socrates. Since the time of Cicero, Herodotus has been referred to as “The Father of History”. As with many early maps, and much of the history, geography, and ethnographical information of Herodotus was not entirely accurate.
Original steel-engraved map on thick paper. Drawn by Giraldon, engraved by Chamouin of the rue de la Harpe No.33 in Paris, for cartographer and publisher, Pierre Lapie (1777-1851). Lapie was Geographer to the King of France.
