This original map by Alex. Scally was published for the most comprehensively illustrated historical and descriptive publication on Australia and the neighbouring islands, Picturesque Atlas of Australiasia, edited by the Honourable Andrew Garran and published in Sydney between 1886 and 1888 by the Picturesque Atlas Publishing Company to commemorate 100 years of settlement in Australia.

The size of this map with central horizontal fold, as issued, is 66 x 44cm (26 x 17.5 inches).  The map has wide borders, but unfortunately our scanner is not large enough to show these.
