Beautiful original copperplate engraving by M. Griffith, published in London circa 1805 by George Kearsley for "Zoological Lectures at the Royal Institution" by George Shaw.

The paper of this finely-engraved image has slight offsetting and age-discolouration which does not detract from this wonderful antique print. Published in black and white, it has been coloured at some later date, but is very well done, adding to the charm of this cricket image.
