La Nuova Olanda e la Nuova Guinea.   New Holland (Australia) and New Guinea

Original rare copperplate-engraved map by Giovanni Maria Cassini, who flourished as a mapmaker between 1776 and 1884. Incorporating Captain Cook’s charting of the east coast of Australia a few years earlier, this map (with later hand-colour) was published in Rome circa 1801 by eminent printing company Calografia Camerale, for Cassini’s atlas, Nuovo Atlante Geografico Universale.

This map is in fine condition with large borders around map, as published. We have just shown the image area to provide the best detail possible.

Map size is 37 x 50cm (14.5 x 19.5 inches).
