Antique map by Queen’s geographer, Alexander Keith Johnston (1804-1871), F.R.S.E. (Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh). This antique map with an Inset of Tasmania, has excellent detail, including routes of the most recent exploration within Australia at the time of publication.
Original antique map Engraved, Printed and Published by W. & A.K. Johnston, Edinburgh & London, forf Johnston's "General Atlas"circa 1879, with contemporary (at the time of publication) coloured outlining and wash to the countries. Unfortunately, this map is too large to fit the scanner. If you would like further images of edges of map, please let us know. It is in good condition, except for a conservation-repaired short separation along the rear paper reinforcement at the base of the vertical central fold.
