Flemish architect and engraver Jean-Francois Deneufforge (1714-1791) studied engraving in Paris from around 1840. Original copperplate engraving (with later hand-colour), drawn and engraved by Deuneufforge for his huge " Basic Architectural Manual" Recueil élémentaire d'architecture, published in Paris between 1757 and 1768 “with the Privilege of the King” (Louis XV).. A series on eighteenth century French architectural detail of both public and private buildings and other structures, Deneufforge included floor plans, facades, ceilings, walls, columns, and all aspects of interior decoration.
