Original hand-colored lithograph published circa 1827 for “Natural History of Mammals” by lithographer, printer & bookseller, Joseph Brodtmann (1787-1862). Brodtmann's distinctive style depicts the finer qualities of each of the beasts he portrays with such wonderful detail.

Born in Germany, Brodtmann relocated to Switzerland where most of his work was done.
