Wonderful hand-coloured lithograph published circa 1827 for “Natural History of Mammals” by lithographer, printer & bookseller, Joseph Brodtmann (1787-1862). Brodtmann's distinctive style depicts the finer qualities of each beast he portrays with such fine detail.

Born in Germany, Brodtmann relocated to Switzerland where most of his work was done.
