Chloe Preston was born in 1887 and grew up in a gentrified English country environment. Illustrations for her first book "The Peek-a-Boo's", were published in London in 1910.  The clear simple outlines and bright colours of her humorous images portray simple excursions and activities.
They are a popular choice for babies whose eyesight develops from outlines of vision; but because of their individual charm, they remain favourites with children and adults alike.
