Hand-coloured reproduction from an important and rarely seen copperplate-engraved map by Giovanni Maria Cassini, who flourished as a mapmaker between 1776 and 1884.  Incorporating Captain Cook’s charting of the east coast of Australia, it was originally published in Rome circa 1801 by Calografia Camerale, for Cassini’s atlas, Nuovo Atlante Geografico Universale.

This superb reproduction is one of only 500 printed in black and white. It is also available hand-tinted with watercolour (listed below).
