Limited Edition reproduced from an original copperplate-engraved map by Benard, recording Cook’s navigational records from his charting of the east coast of the "great south land" (Australia) that the British Admiralty had commissioned him to find. On the first of his three voyages between 1768 and 1779, Captain James Cook discovered and charted the east coast of New Holland (as it was then known), & named it New South Wales.
