Antique
Map. Orbit of Donati's Comet of 1858, The Great Comet of 1861, Comet of 1807, Comet of 1811, First Comet of 1847, and Halley's
Comet with the Orbits of Planets with comparison to Earth and sun. (This side
has a couple of faint ink smudges, as shown in the scanned image.)
This map was engraved and printed by W. & A. K. Johnston of Edinburgh and London, for their World Atlas, published circa 1886. This popular atlas was reissued a number of times over the following years. These maps are in original published condition which was partly printed in colour. Please note on the verso there is another map of the Solar Chart of the Earth: Day and Night, the Sun and comparisons with the Seasons, and the Tides. Due to system limitations we have shown the reverse side as amCG.J64-63b Obviously, one price covers both maps. The page size is 365cm x 480cm (approx. 14.1/2” x 19inches). Very interesting maps, that look stunning when framed. There is a repaired marginal tear upper left area of page - not intruding on image. Price: $165.00 (AUD) inc GST |
