As originally published in two sections, one above the other, to facilitate the printing process of the day, this rustic-coloured panorama is as seen looking over Ann Street at central Brisbane within the sweep of the river.

Reproduction from a (hand-coloured) wood engraving of a panorama from the Observatory on Wickham Terrace, after a sketch by J.H. Flynn for the “Supplement to the Illustrated Sydney News and New South Wales Agriculturalist and Grazier” published in Sydney circa 1885.
