Original steel engraving by Arthur Willmore (1814-1888) after drawing by German painter, lithographer and topographical draughtsman Nicholas Chevalier (1828-1902). Published in London circa 1874 by Virtue & Co. for “Australia Illustrated with Drawings by Skinner Prout, Chevalier, Armytage and others". Historic views of Australia are revered as records of early development in colonial Australia. This is a fine engraving on steel, in good condition, with wide borders outside the shown image.
