Robes de Jeunes filles de Doeuillet (Young Girls dresses by the designer Georges Doeuillet) Delightful original pochoir (French for stencil), by André-E. Marty (1882-1974), coloured by gouache and watercolour, with different stencils of zinc cut for each colour. Published in Paris circa 1913 for La Gazette du Bon Ton, The Journal of Good Style, which llustrated the latest superior fashions. Gazette du Bon Ton was the exclusive periodical for the well-to-do, published by Lucien Vogel in Paris between 1912 and 1925 (with a break during World War I) and distributed by Condé Nast. Distributed in the U.S. as Gazette du Bon Genre, both titles translate roughly as Journal of the Good Style. Using the distinctive pochoir style, the latest fashions are worn, and are frequently shown in appropriate settings, sometimes with others also stylishly attired.
