Antique Map of Central America and West Indies, by W & AK Johnston c1886
This map, showing the British, French Spanish and Dutch administrations of the islands, and the submarine telegraph lines,was published by W and A.K. Johnston in Edinburgh c1886 and reissued several times over the following years. Partly printed in colour, it is a decorative map, and would look great framed. To our knowledge this is the first year any atlas was printed with maps on both sides. The map on the obverse side is of South America (south from Rio De Janeiro).
