Chart of the World in Hemispheres circa 1886 by W. & A.K. Johnston.

This map, engraved and printed (partly in colour) for their "General Atlas" by W. & A.K. Johnston in Edinburgh circa 1886. The first publication of this atlas appeared in 1850. It was so popular that it was reissued several times over the following years.
This lovely map is in original published condition, with engraved outline, and printed in colour.

Please note on the verso there is another map of  the World (on Mercator's Projection).
