Beautiful antique print of Emilia, Countefs of Ofsory. Portrait engraving after the painting by Willem Wissing, also known as William Wissisng (1656-1687). Stipple and steel engraving by eminent portrait engraver Edward Scriven (1775-1841) for a series on the beauties of the court of Charles II. Published in London circa 1838, with fine later hand-colour.

Wissing was a Dutch artist who moved to London in 1676 and studied with and worked for the great artist Sir Peter Lely. After Lely's death in 1680, Wissing portraits gained pre-eminent status at the court of Charles II. In 1685 James II of England sent Wissing to the Netherlands to paint the portraits of his Dutch son-in-law, the future William III of England, and his daughter, the future Queen Mary II of England.
