Stipple and steel engraving by eminent portrait engraver Thomas Wright (1792-1849), after the painting by James Huysman (1656-1696), for the series on Beauties of the Court of Charles II, published in London circa 1838. Fine later hand-colour accentuates the beauty of this portrait. Huysman was a Dutch painter from Antwerp who moved to London and rivalled Lely as a painter of Baroque-style portraits of aristocracy.
