Music Composer Anton Dvorak, finely engraved portrait c1900

by Unknown

Exquisitely engraved portrait of music composer Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904). Dvorak, born in a little village near Prague, established the fine reputation of Czech symphony and chamber music between 1865 and 1875.

Fine mezzotint and steel engraving after a photograph. Published in Leipzig circa 1900. Very small portrait that has already acquired slight creasing. It is now mounted between antique-white-coloured conservation mattboard, and covered with cellophane for cellophane, ready for glass and your choice of picture frame.

The image within the window is approximately 12cm x 10cm (4.75inches x 4 inches). The external measurement of the mount is 28cm x 26cm (11 inches x 10.25 inches).
