Beautiful classical portraiture. Antique Print by Bartolozzi after Holbein Portrait (no name). Bartolozzi was one of the finest engravers ever. Bartolozzi's mastery of the art of stipple engraving is exemplified in his portraits of Holbein's drawings. 

Original stipple engraving (proof plate with no attribution) by foundation member of the Royal Academy in London in 1768, Historical Engraver to his Majesty, Francesco Bartolozzi R.A. (1727-1815) for “Imitations of Original Drawings by Hans Holbein, in the collection of His Majesty, for the portraits of illustrious persons of the court of Henry VIII” by Hans Holbein (the Younger) (1497-1543). Published in London circa 1799 by the Keeper of the King’s Drawings and Medals and Fellow of the Society of Artists, John Chamberlaine and printed by W. Bulmer & Co. The artistic excellence of Holbein was personified in his court portraits.

There is faint foxing to the left of this portrait. This portrait to the engraved border measures 275 x 195mm (approximately 11 x 7.75 inches). To plate mark measures 310 x 240mm (12.25 x 9.5 inches). Page size is 54 x 42cm (21.25 x 16.5 inches).
