Original hand-coloured engraving for A History of the Earth and Animated Nature by Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774). This hand-coloured engraving was published c1850 by A. Fullarton & Co. of London and Edinburgh. First published circa 1774, and reissued over 20 times with illustrations updated over the years, 'Animated Nature' was a popular source of reference on the natural world.
