Beautiful original antique print of Menai Suspension Bridge at Bangor, over the Menai Strait in Wales. An idyllic scene with people in the foreground, and yachts, a row boat, and sailing ships on the water.

Original very fine steel engraving by J. Rogers from a drawing by topographical illustrator, William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854) for The Ports, Harbours, Watering-Places and Coast Scenery of Great Britain. By William Finden (1787-1852) and Edward Finden (1791-1857). Published in London by George Virtue, 26, Ivy Lane, circa 1840-1845, with engravings from illustrations of views taken on the spot by W.H. Bartlett.

It is a very peaceful scene, very finely engraved, and beautifully hand-coloured. Page size is 210 x 275mm (8.25 x 10.75 inches). Engraved image is approximately 120 x 185mm (4.75 x 7.25 inches).
