Original copperplate engraving by C. Warren, of the drawing by painter and naval draughtsman, Piron (active 1791-1793), after a sketch by Harding. Published April 20 1800 by John Debrett of Piccadilly, for the Voyage in Search of La Perouse.
It is an excellent engraving on thick soft paper. Unfortunately the surface of the centre of the engraving is rubbed. The base is cropped close to the base of the publishing details.
The page measures 225 x 290mm (approximately 9 x 11.5 inches). Engraved image measures 180 x 242mm (7 x 9.5 inches).
