Original wood engraving after a sketch by New York-born artist Frederick B. Schell (1838-1905), from his 1884-1888 travels around Australia. At the age of 29 Schell was appointed Art Director to select the illustrations for Picturesque Atlas of Australasia, the grand graphic summary published in Sydney between 1886 and 1889, to commemorate 100 years of settlement in Australia, and to record the discovery and development of the region during that period.

This engraving has fine hand-colour and is mounted in 'antique white' coloured acid-free archival mattboard and covered with cellophane for presentation and protection, ready for framing. Size of image is 7 x 5 inches or 18 x 13cm. External size for framing is 11.5 x 10 inches or 29 x 25cm
