"Il n'a pas pleure" ou Notre defenseur de demain (He hasn't cried, or Our defense of tomorrow). Baptism or christening gown and dress by Jeanne Lanvin.

Antique in 2 years time. Original pochoir by Pierre Brissaud (1885-1964) for La Gazette du Bon Ton (Gazette of Good Style), published in Paris in 1922. The finest fashion illustrators of the day portrayed the latest fashions by prominent French designers. Brissaud was one of four regular contributors for this exclusive periodical. His pochoir provides a charming character study and fashion narrative of the period.

Gazette de Bon Ton was published by Lucien Vogel in Paris between 1912 and 1925 (with a break during World War I), and distributed by Condé Nast. The portrayal of fashion by the pochoir method was perfected by skilful artists in France, and this French word for stencil has been adopted worldwide since that time. Pochoir was a labour-intensive process, with separate stencils cut for the hand-application of watercolour.
