Rare Australian Red-tailed Black Cockatoo antique print c1789.

Antique print of Red-tailed Black Cockatoo. Copperplate engraving by fine Welsh natural history draughtsman and engraver, Sydenham Teast Edwards (1768-1819) after a drawing by Ann Latham (1772-1835), daughter of English ornithologist John Latham (1740-1837). Published in “Voyage of Governor Phillip to Botany Bay; with an Account of the Establishment of the Colonies of Port Jackson & Norfolk Island” printed in London c1789 by John Stockdale.

This engraving has fine later hand-colour. There is slight water damage to this page and a light fold to page at top right. Otherwise it is in good condition considering its age. The price has been reduced considerably in recognition of this.
