Including lesser-known South Uist, North Uist, Harris, Coll, Tiree, Foula and Fair Isle, this map of the Scottish Isles was printed in colour for Letts's Popular Atlas of the World circa 1884 by Letts, Son & Co. London. Thomas Letts took over the family owned publishing company in 1835 and was joined by his son Charles in 1870, when the Limited Company of Letts, Son & Co. was established. Letts, Son & Co was liquidated in 1885.

Printed on brittle lightweight paper, there are some small edge tears, and some restrengthening by fine archival tape. Page size is approx. 36 x 44cm (14 x 17.25 inches).
