Original map engraved on copper by Wyld Hewitt and published in Edinburgh circa 1824 by John Thomson and Co., for "A New General Atlas of the World". This popular atlas was first published between 1814 and 1819.

In good condition with large borders as published, this map has a lovely cartouche title piece and later hand-colour.
The printed image size measures 24 x 18cm.
